The world can be a crazy place. Challenges to our wellbeing come in many forms. Unless we have skills and practices with which to meet these challenges, we'll tend to feel constricted, less able to engage in life, and may develop chronic pain and other symptoms that then add to a sense of stress.
Calmness and centredness are learnable skills. When they are in place, many benefits flow. We tend to be happier, healthier, and more able to orient ourselves constructively in the face of challenges. Our capacities for self-acceptance, clear communication, spontaneity, assertiveness, compassion, and humour are greatly enhanced.
Calm Centre Coaching starts with recognition of the simple fact that human beings have human bodies. The better we engage with this fact, the more we can improve the ways we think, move, and feel.
I teach my clients to open the lines of communication between multiple "centres of knowing," especially head, heart, and belly. Each of these centres has an essential contribution to make. When we ignore them, life gets really narrow; when we include them, life opens up, and we can get on with living it.
My approach to coaching is woven from my skills as an Alexander Technique Teacher, Advanced NLP Coach, Social Ecologist (B. App. Sc. Hons), and trainee with Dr. Stephen Gilligan in his Generative Change work.
I offer private coaching, public workshops, and group coaching to businesses, professional associations, sports and performing-arts groups and other organisations.
